In a rather nice turn of events, I have been asked to represent York and travel with (on bus, and err...cycle) the Paralympic Flame when it comes through the city at the end of August on the 24th.
It was really cool actually, because two fantastic representatives for the city voted for me to be involved - Jade Aitken (who is heavily involved with York Young Carers and making big changes on a national level with them, as well as the city of York Council. And, also I was nominated by Heather Niven - who is head of Creative York and a big "game changer" in the city. Heather knows a lot of people, is very influential within the creative fields, and she's also an all-round fantastic person who helps pretty much everyone she meets. Actually, there's no freakin' way that I would be in this position if it wasn't for Heather, so I will always owe her loads of thanks....a thousand thank yous...maybe more. So yeah. Cheers Heather, and Jade!
Anyway, so there's a big Energise day planned involving the Flame and a range of disabled sports events - it looks like I am going to be getting plenty of exercise, right? I hope so. It looks like I am going to be covering Leeds Festival that weekend for Soundsphere magazine. Fingers crossed, anyway.

As ever, thanks for reading.
I'm going to leave you with this. They're a wicked new band I discovered last week (via one of the awesome press agencies that helps the mag out) called MYPET. This is they're first offering and it's called 'Pays To Know'...
