In the form of bulletpoints!
Simple!
- CURRENTLY working on case studies for Higher York spotlighting York postgraduates and students.
- We've finished YSJ Connect - a bunch of new opportunities and developments will be online soon...
Below are my thoughts on the project in blog form...not yet though!
- I have been working on a project called Disabled Entrepreneurs with a very talented friend. Check out the blog here.
- Soundsphere magazine (the printed version) will arrive at my office on November 17, so I will be getting those out to people as soon as possible.
You can pre-order the magazine here.
- I am working on confirming stuff for issue two. More on that as it comes. Obviously, I need to make sure this one works first, but thanks to the great support I have received, I know that it will be awesome!
Anyway, that just about brings us up-to-date, don't forget to keep checking out soundspheremag.com for info and news.
My thoughts on one of the biggest projects of this year...

YSJ CONNECT
As an ex-student of York St John and someone who is currently based here running a business, it is a pleasure to be associated with the YSJ Connect project as a journalist (a skill that I developed over two years away from the institution studying an MA and working in magazines) and to be working with other talented graduates. I am proud to be honing my craft at an institution that gave me the confidence and drive to succeed within the creative industry, and hopefully this project will allow others to do the same in a variety of sectors.
Like other people working on this project will no doubt say, it would have been nice to have this opportunity when I was studying here back in from 2004-to-2007, but at the same time it is important to not look back and to focus on how we can support current students and I believe that with the diverse mix of written and video material that we have on offer, there is a great opportunity. Of course, it's just up to our readers to take advantage of it! It took ages to get the right “style” down, but now I finally think we have something great to work with, and we're still going! The more content we get, the better!
I am Features Editor on the project and I take the audio from the best interviews that we collect and turn them into what I hope to be informative Q&A interviews and detailed articles that focus on peoples' strengths and the impact of their ideas and achievements so that the readers (primarily current students and graduates) can identify with the text as it is consistently short and to the point.
I would like as many people as possible to make use of the information that we have collected and I hope that you enjoy the end product. I am looking forward to getting to know more of the staff, students and external organisations that will benefit and enjoy YSJ Connect.
Kind regards, best wishes and good luck to all of those that make use of what we have created.
