Taking a break – thank you for supporting Soundsphere

Hello!

I will be taking a break from Soundsphere. I’m looking at between late March and early May 2026 for a return to normal, but I could be away a bit longer.

I will be using this period to focus on my health and other projects. Everything is cool, all is well - I’m just having a break, and doing some other things. Don’t worry! When it’s time to come back, I’ll let everyone know.

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all of the writers, bands, creatives, artists, management teams, PRs, venues, family and friends that have supported Soundsphere’s efforts as we have branched out from music into wrestling and film, tv and games. It’s really been an honour.

Because I have been the main source of funding (as I refuse to take gambling, crypto and advertorial that has nothing to do with what we do) and also the main editor for the site for the last few years, regular freelance opportunities, volunteering, work placements, live sessions and live showcases will be put on hold until my return, as it is unfair to ask anyone else to put in the amount of hours, time and energy that I have, without any kind of reward.

Everything will remain active as an archive across Soundsphere, Screensphere and Wrestlesphere for all of the wonderful work that has been done, and I will be keeping an eye on the sites. You may still see some new articles posted here and there, if inspiration strikes.

If there is anything really important that you really want to share, you can contact Andy Spoors on [email protected], but he will NOT be commissioning paid features, reviews or anything of that nature.

Once again, I thank everyone for their contributions. My hope is that Soundsphere has helped to launch a few careers, help some bands and creatives and given some people the confidence they need to navigate the creative industries. It has been my absolute pleasure to support as many people as we have.

I will be also be taking a break from the vast expanse of social media and my Soundsphere e-mail inbox during this time, so, please don’t expect a response from me here!

If you’d like to keep in touch, you can drop me a line at [email protected] and I’ll do my best to answer - please, for the love of whatever it is you believe in, no work stuff: no pitches, press releases or bloody gambling advertorials! Ta…

Thank you all, for everything.

See you in a bit!

In the meantime, take care and big, big love…

Dom x
