Following Michael Jackson's shocking death yesterday, SPHERE offer our deepest sympathies to the artist's family and friends.

Paramedics were called to the singer's Beverly Hills home at about midday on Thursday after he stopped breathing.

He was pronounced dead two hours later at the UCLA medical centre. Jermaine Jackson, said he was believed to have suffered a cardiac arrest.

Jackson, who had a history of health problems, had been due to stage a series of comeback concerts in the UK, beginning on 13 July.

As the Editor of SPHERE Magazine, I am proud to say that the first music tape I was ever given was a copy of 'Dangerous'. As a child I was a massive fan of the artist and he gave me a huge amount of inspiration and drive to overcome various obstacles in my early life. He lived an Alternative lifestyle that has come into question many a time over the last few years, but musically he has influenced many great Alt-artists and performers. I am deeply saddened and I certainly speak for all of the SPHERE team when I say that.
